Jennifer Howard
Jennifer Howard leads Conservation International’s natural climate solutions (NCS) portfolio, working with partners around the world to protect critical ecosystems and ensure climate projects deliver real, lasting results.
Her work focuses on scaling high-impact, science-based solutions to conserve both natural ecosystems and working lands, while supporting communities, safeguarding biodiversity, and upholding environmental and market integrity. In this role, she drives innovation across the NCS landscape and provides technical leadership to teams worldwide, including guiding the development of new NCS models, blue carbon implementation and irrecoverable carbon initiatives. She builds strategic partnerships to accelerate implementation and ensure that climate solutions deliver measurable, durable outcomes.
Jennifer helped found the Global Mangrove Alliance and represents Conservation International on its steering committee, working to halt mangrove loss, expand protections and restore mangrove ecosystems globally. She also contributes to the Blue Carbon Initiative, advancing coastal carbon science and policy. In addition, she supports the development of frameworks and methodologies that strengthen the credibility and scalability of nature-based climate solutions, working closely with partners to identify and overcome barriers to deployment across diverse geographies and project types.
