He leads the organization’s strategy and programs in Peru, with a strong focus on the Amazon and other priority ecosystems. His work brings together biodiversity and climate action, protected areas, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, sustainable production and bioeconomy, and innovative conservation finance. Throughout his career, he has built partnerships across government, civil society, communities and the private sector to advance practical and scalable conservation solutions. Luis is a Forestry Engineer from Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina and holds a master's degree in organizational governance from Universidad de Piura. He is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and serves on the Board of Peru’s National Protected Areas Service (SERNANP).
